How to share your Google One subscription on Spliiit?
Google One is a service that combines Google storage (Drive/Gmail/Photos) with additional benefits (and sometimes AI-related options), depending on the plan. The advantage of sharing: instead of everyone paying for their own storage, you can pool a large amount of space with a family plan.
On Spliiit, Google One is shared by invitation via a Google family group: each co-subscriber keeps their Google account and joins the owner's family.
🔗 Sharing method: invitation (Google family group/Google One sharing)
👥 Number of users: up to 6 users max (owner + 5 members)
📅 Shareable plans: Premium 2TB (Monthly/Annual)/2TB + AI Pro (Monthly)
Best practices for sharing Google One in 30 seconds
✅ The owner must create (or have) a Google family group and activate Google One sharing.
✅ Each co-subscriber joins the family with their own Google account (personal email).
✅ A co-subscriber must not have been part of another Google family recently (otherwise, it will be blocked; this is a limitation on Google's part, not Spliiit's).
✅ Files remain private: no one can see your Drive/Photos unless you share them.
✅ Each member keeps their personal 15 GB quota first; shared storage takes over after that.

On Spliiit, you can offer Google One as a host under these offers:

- Premium 2TB (Annual) — up to 6 users max
- 2TB + AI Pro (Monthly) — up to 6 users max (Gemini app included)
Owner: suggest sharing Google One on Spliiit
Step 1 — Prerequisites to check (important)
- Have an active Google One subscription (Premium 2TB or 2TB + AI Pro).
- Have a Google family group (or create one).
Step 2 — Post the offer on Spliiit
- On Spliiit, go to "Propose."
- Choose Google One
- Select the offer (Premium 2TB monthly/annual, or 2TB + AI Pro)
- Indicate the number of available seats (up to 6)
- Publish as public sharing to receive requests
ℹ️ You can also share privately 🔐 : invite only your friends and family.
Step 3 — Create/manage your Google family group
- Sign in to your Google account
- Go to the Your Family on Google page
- Click Start, then Create a homegroup (if you haven't already done so).
Step 4 — Invite your co-subscribers (2 options)
Option A — From a computer
- Go to Your Family on Google
- Click on Invite a family member
- Enter the Google email address of the co-subscriber, then click Send.
Option B — From the Google One app
- Open the Google One app
- Go to Settings
- Manage family → Manage family group → Invite family members
- Enter the co-subscriber's email address, then click Send.
Co-subscriber: join a Google One offer
- On Spliiit, open the marketplace (🔎) and search for Google One.
- Join an offer and make the payment
- Send the owner the Google email address you want to use.
- Open the invitation you received by email and follow the steps to join the family.
- Once accepted, you have access to shared storage (without automatic access to other people's files).
✅ It works if...
- You are using a personal Google account.
- You accept the invitation (it seems obvious, but this is often where people get stuck...).
- You understand the logic: shared storage, private files as long as you don't share them.
- You have used up your 15 GB of personal storage: then, shared storage takes over automatically.
❌ It doesn't work if...
- You have already been in another Google family recently (Google may prevent you from joining a new family).
- The invitation arrives in your spam/promotions folder and you don't see it.
- The owner invites you with the wrong email address
🛠️ If it's stuck, try...
- Check spam + "Promotions" tabs
- Ask the owner to resend the invitation (and double-check the email).
- Verify that you have access to the invited email address (if not, change your email address).
- If you are blocked by Google's family rules: you will have to wait until Google authorizes you to join a new family.
- Update the Google One app / retest from a browser

☁️ Google One recommendations: use it wisely (and avoid surprises)
- 📸 Google Photos: this is often where storage space runs out the fastest (videos, automatic backups). Check your backup settings if you want to control your usage.
- 🧹 Drive: a big clean-up (old files, large videos, duplicates) can free up much more space than expected.
- ✉️ Gmail: old attachments can take up a lot of space: search for emails with large files and delete anything you don't need.
