How to share your Dropbox subscription on Spliiit?

Dropbox is a cloud storage service: you can back up and sync your files (computer, mobile, etc.), share folders, retrieve previous versions... in short, it's the Dropbox version of Google Drive.

With Dropbox Family, everyone keeps their own private space, and you can also share a family folder if you need to.

On Spliiit, Dropbox is shared by invitation, and each co-subscriber has their own Dropbox account (i.e., their own login details, files, and settings). There is no need to share passwords: the owner invites members, and each member accepts the invitation.

Best practices for sharing Dropbox in 30 seconds

✅ Make sure you have Dropbox Family (this is the only plan that can be shared on Spliiit).
✅ Each co-subscriber uses their own Dropbox account (personal email).
✅ Files remain private: you cannot see other people's files unless you put them in a shared folder.
✅ Check the status of invitations: until they are "accepted," members are not active.

Dropbox: Which plans can be shared on Spliiit?

On Spliiit, you can offer Dropbox in two different packages:

• Family Monthly — up to 6 users max
• Annual Family — up to 6 users max

Owner: offer Dropbox sharing on Spliiit

Step 1 — Prepare your Dropbox subscription

1. Make sure you have an active Dropbox Family subscription.
2. Collect the email addresses of your fellow subscribers (the 5 people to invite).

Step 2 — Post the offer on Spliiit

1. On Spliiit, go to "Propose."
2. Choose Dropbox
3. Select the plan (Monthly Family or Annual Family)
4. Indicate the number of available seats (up to 6 in total)
5. Publish as public sharing to receive requests

Step 3 — Invite your co-subscribers to Dropbox (invitation)

1. Sign in to dropbox.com
2. Click on your avatar
3. Go to Settings
4. Open the Family tab
5. Invite members by email, track the status of invitations, and send reminders if necessary.

Co-subscriber: join a Dropbox share

1. On Spliiit, open the marketplace (🔎) and search for Dropbox.
2. Join an offer and make the payment
3. Send the owner the email address you want to use for Dropbox
4. Open the invitation you received and accept it.
5. If you do not have a Dropbox account, you can create one at the time of acceptance.
6. Once accepted: you use Dropbox with your login details and your own space.

• Activate the alert to be notified as soon as a spot becomes available.
• or create your offer as a homeowner

✅ It works if...

• You're on Dropbox Family
• The owner invites you with the correct email address.
• You accept the invitation

❌ It doesn't work if...

• The plan is not Family (or if all seats are already taken)
• The invitation is in spam or was never accepted.

🛠️ If it's stuck, try...

1. Check spam + secondary tabs
2. Ask the owner to resend the invitation (and double-check the email).
3. Test creating/logging into Dropbox with the guest email (to verify that everything is working properly).
4. Sign out/sign back in on dropbox.com or in the app
5. If you already had a Dropbox account, make sure you are logged into the correct account (this happens often).
