How to share your Fastmail subscription on Spliiit?

Fastmail has a sharing mode designed for multiple people: Duo (2 users) and Family (up to 6 users) plans.

Here, we don't share passwords: sharing is done by adding members, and each co-subscriber keeps their own Fastmail account (i.e., their mailbox, contacts, calendar, and settings).

Fastmail is a fast, private, ad-free email service with calendar and contacts, usable on the web and in most email apps (mobile and desktop).

Best practices for sharing Fastmail in 30 seconds

✅ Give one account per person: everyone has their own login → everyone keeps their emails/contacts/calendar.
✅ Send the initial password securely: ideally via a secure channel (and ask the co-subscriber to change it afterwards).
✅ Do not give admin rights: only one admin owner.

Fastmail: Which plans can be shared on Spliiit?

On Spliiit, you can offer Fastmail through these plans:

• Monthly Duo — up to 2 users
• Annual Duo — up to 2 users
• Family Monthly — up to 6 users
• Annual Family — up to 6 users

Owner: suggest sharing Fastmail on Spliiit

1) Set up your Fastmail account

1. Ensure you have an active Duo or Family subscription.

2) Post the offer on Spliiit

1. On Spliiit, go to "Propose."
2. Choose Fastmail
3. Select the plan (Duo or Family, monthly or yearly)
4. Indicate the number of available seats
5. Publish as public sharing to receive requests

ℹ️ You can also share privately 🔐 : invite only your friends and family.

3) Add your co-subscribers in Fastmail (create access)

1. Sign in to Fastmail
2. Go to Settings → Users & Sharing
3. Click on New user
4. Enter your name, username (login email), then generate a temporary password .
5. Confirm the member's creation (the user will then have their login details to log in)

Co-subscriber: join a Fastmail plan

1. On Spliiit, open the marketplace (🔎) and search for Fastmail
2. Join an offer and make the payment
3. The owner will create a Fastmail account for you and send you:
   • your address / username
   • your initial login password
4. Log in, then change your password (recommended) and enable 2FA if possible.

ℹ️ If no offers are available:

• Activate the alert to be notified as soon as a spot becomes available.
• or create your offer as a homeowner

✅ It works if...

• The owner has successfully created the user in Users & Sharing.
• You are logging in with the correct address.
• The owner keeps the subscription active.

❌ It doesn't work if...

• You are trying to be 3 on a Duo offer (2 max) or 7 on a Family offer (6 max).
• The owner has given you an incomplete username or an incorrect password.

🛠️ If it's stuck, try...

1. Re-copy the ID without any mistakes.
2. Ask the owner to reset your password and send you a new one.
